Transfers in are free and add a year to the registration. Renewal prices are the registry’s, not a markup we invented — when a registry raises its wholesale price we say so rather than quietly passing it on.

Choosing a domain in India.

.in or .com?

Both, if you can. Register the .com because that is what people type by reflex, and the .in because it is cheap, signals an Indian business, and is still available in a way .com has not been since about 2005. Point one at the other with a 301 so there is only ever one indexable address.

If the budget forces a choice: selling only in India, take the .in. Selling abroad, or ever likely to, take the .com.

The renewal trap

Some extensions renew at many times their first-year price. .online, .store, .shop and .tech are the usual offenders — a first year under a hundred rupees can renew at well over two thousand. That is not a trick we play; it is the registry's own pricing and it is the same at every registrar. The trick is showing you only the first number.

Which is why we quote both. Ask for the five-year cost rather than the first-year price, and the cheap extension often stops looking cheap.

Picking the name itself

Short and sayable. If you cannot give it over the phone without spelling it twice, it is wrong.
No hyphens or digits. They get lost in speech and typed wrong constantly.
Check it reads right. Run the letters together and read them cold, without the mental word break you already have.
Check the trademark before you build a brand on it. A domain is not a right to the name.
Buy the obvious typos if the brand matters, and redirect them.

Transferring in

Unlock the domain at your current registrar and disable WHOIS privacy for the moment.
Request the EPP / authorisation code — it usually arrives by email within minutes.
Send it to us. We start the transfer and you get an approval email.
ICANN imposes a five-day waiting period on most TLDs, so the whole thing takes five to seven days.

Your site stays up throughout — a transfer moves who manages the registration, not where the site is hosted. We do not charge for it, and it adds a year to the registration.

How much does a domain cost in India?

Should I buy a .in or a .com?

Buy both if the budget allows, and point one at the other. A .com is what customers type by reflex and travels internationally. A .in signals an Indian business, is far cheaper, and has much better availability — the name you want is often still free.

Is a free domain with hosting actually free?

It is free for the first year, and then it renews at that registrar’s list price, which is frequently higher than buying it outright. Read the renewal figure before you take the offer. Ours are printed on this page for exactly that reason.

Can I transfer my domain to you from another registrar?

Yes. Unlock it at your current registrar, get the EPP authorisation code, and send it to us. The transfer adds a year to the registration and takes five to seven days, most of which is ICANN’s mandatory waiting period. We do not charge a transfer fee.

Do I own the domain, or do you?

You do. It is registered in your name, with your contact details as registrant, and you can transfer it away whenever you like. We do not lock domains or hold them hostage against an unpaid hosting invoice.

What is domain privacy and do I need it?

WHOIS privacy replaces your name, address and phone number in the public registry with a forwarding service. Without it, your details are published and scraped within hours. It is included free on every domain we register.

Do I get a GST invoice for a domain?

Yes, with your GSTIN on it, at 18% like every other service. Domains are non-refundable once registered, because the registry charges us the moment the name is created and that charge cannot be reversed.

Can I register several domains at once?

Yes. Send us a list and we will check them in bulk and register whatever is free in one invoice. Brand-protection registrations across .in, .co.in and .com are a common request and we will quote the set.

What happens if I forget to renew?

We email you at 30, 15, 7 and 1 day before expiry, and call if the domain carries a live site. After expiry there is a redemption window where the name can still be recovered, but the registry charges a steep redemption fee. Auto-renew is on by default and you can switch it off.
