Do you actually need Windows?
The honest answer is usually no
Windows hosting exists for applications that need Windows. That is a short list: ASP.NET, classic ASP, MSSQL, MS Access, and the occasional COM component nobody has been able to remove since 2011.
If your site is WordPress, Laravel, Node, Django or plain PHP, it belongs on Linux — it will run faster, cost a fraction as much, and have fewer edge cases. We would rather sell you the ₹69$0.78 Linux plan than the ₹1,499$17.03 Windows one and have you wonder later why it was slow.
The single most common mistake is buying Windows hosting because you use Windows. Your own operating system has nothing to do with the server’s.
When Windows is genuinely right
- An ASP.NET or .NET Core application, especially one already deployed on IIS.
- An MSSQL database the application cannot be moved off.
- Tally, ERP or accounting software that needs a Windows desktop over RDP — see Tally on Cloud, which is the packaged version of exactly that.
- A Windows-only line-of-business tool several people need to reach at once.
- Software licensed per physical core, where a bare-metal Windows server is the cheaper answer.
Windows VPS, VDS, or dedicated?
VPS is where almost everyone should start. Full Administrator, resources reserved for you, and enough room for an ASP.NET site with its MSSQL database on the same box.
VDS pins physical cores to your instance, which matters when the workload is steady rather than bursty — an ERP, a reporting server, a busy MSSQL.
Dedicated is for per-core licensing, compliance that requires single tenancy, or workloads that need all of the hardware.
Why Windows costs more
The Windows Server licence is a genuine per-server cost, and so is MSSQL if you need the paid edition. We pass it through rather than hiding it, which is why the Windows plans sit where they do relative to Linux. Nobody is marking Windows up; Microsoft is charging for it.

What is Windows hosting?
Hosting that runs Windows Server rather than Linux, with IIS instead of Apache or Nginx. You need it for ASP.NET and classic ASP applications, MSSQL databases, and anything that depends on a Windows-only component. Everything else runs happily and more cheaply on Linux.
How much does Windows hosting cost in India?
A Windows VPS starts at ₹1,499/mo excluding 18% GST. It costs more than the equivalent Linux instance because the Windows Server licence is a real cost we pass on rather than hide.
Do I need Windows hosting for my website?
Almost certainly not, unless it is written in ASP.NET or uses MSSQL. PHP, WordPress, Node, Python and Laravel all run better and cheaper on Linux. Being a Windows user yourself has nothing to do with it — that is the most common reason people buy it by mistake.
Do you support ASP.NET and MSSQL?
Yes. ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core with the current runtimes on IIS, and MSSQL Server databases with remote access from SQL Server Management Studio.
Is Plesk included?
Plesk is optional. Add it at the vendor licence cost if you want a panel, or manage the server over RDP with nothing extra installed — which is what most people running a single application do.
Can I get RDP access?
Yes, full Administrator over Remote Desktop on every Windows plan, plus out-of-band console access so a firewall mistake does not lock you out.
Is Windows Server licensing included?
On VPS and VDS plans, yes, in the price. On dedicated servers it is included for the first 180 days, after which you bring your own licence or we bill it monthly at the Microsoft SPLA rate.
Windows or Linux for a WordPress site?
Linux, without hesitation. WordPress is PHP and MySQL; it runs on Windows but slower, with more edge cases and at several times the price. Our Linux cPanel plans start at a small fraction of the Windows figure.
Can I run Tally on a Windows server?
Yes — that is a Windows VPS with RDP, and we sell it as a product. See our Tally on Cloud page, which is sized by concurrent users rather than by server spec.
